Adam Lambert AMA 2009 – The best home videos are here

Adam Lambert pushed the envelope at the 2009 AMA’s and received a slew of backlash after forcing his dancers’ face in his crotch and kissed the keyboardist with force. The second place “American Idol” contestant is launching his first official album, “For Your Entertainment,” and has been pretty much blacklisted from ABC since the AMA disastrous performance.

Much ado has been going on since thousands cried obscene to the FCC. Canceled performances, Twitter attacks and general whining have ensued. Currently he has been axed from Jimmy Kimmel’s show and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

The latest defense of his performance is targeting Pink. During her 2004 Billboard set she pushed a man’s face into her crotch and now fans are comparing the issues and calling it a double standard. Fast forward to the 1:35 mark for her version of the Pesci. No issues were made and the FCC did nothing at this crotch to face issue.

I am pretty hard to offend being that I use terms like lady balls and enjoy making my neighborhood children cry. However I think the problem, for me anyway, is that everything about his performance was about force. Dancers with leashes were being forced into his crotch. The kiss didn’t bother me one bit and I find it ridiculous they blurred it out, but the forced oral sex is what made me scratch my head in concern. If was a woman being forced into his crotch, I’d feel the same way.

What is really disappointing is that he feels the need to resort to over the top antics to assert himself as an artist. Whatever happened to talent speaking for itself? His sexuality shouldn’t have anything to do with being nixed from shows and performances, but sadly this is what is has become.

This year brought us a lot of good things… Britney Spears released a new song, “3″, Lady Gaga brought us “The Fame Monster”, and Rihanna gave us “Rated R”. In addition, we can also look forward to Alicia Keys’ newest album, “The Element Of Freedom”.

Musical genius aside, here are the album covers of the year that made us want to vomit.

1. Chris Brown – Graffiti

What exactly is going on in this picture? What’s going on with those tight leggings? Got a new weapon to trash your next victim? Tool.

2. Bruce Springsteen – Working on a Dream

In this day and age, you would think that The Boss would’ve come up with something more clever that involved tight jeans and an American flag, but no, we get this Photoshopped disaster.

3. Cymbals Eat Guitars – Why There Are Mountains

As this boy sits on his bed with his dog, in the middle of a forest with a window coming out of nowhere, is totally beyond us. And there are no mountains. This makes absolutely no sense. Moving on.

4. Ear Pwr – Super Animal Brothers III

Two fat, shirtless men playing with Legos. Need I say more? And the moobs! Oh, the moobs are just disgusting on these two slobs.

5. Fischerspooner – Entertainment

Is this what Adam Lambert will grow into? Some wretched creature with guyliner and a lamp on his head. Stop it now. This is no longer funny.

This looks like some cheap graffiti. Clearly they phoned this one in…or copied someone else. Which could it be?

The Audacity Of Hype? Seriously? They had to crap all over Barack Obama’s photo with this garbage? We get it, he’s the devil. Next!

8. Joss Stone – Colour Me Free

Colour her a contortionist! Someone put Joss in a small cell and locked her up. Should you color her out of that pickle? Nope. This is plain terrible.

9. Keith Urban – Defying Gravity

It’s obvious that Keith has something to prove here. Maybe he thinks he can walk on walls since successfully knocking up Nicole Kidman?

10. Kid Cudi – Man on the Moon: The End of Day

And we all thought that Kanye West had a head as big as the moon. We were wrong! We’ll get you some Tylenol for that massive headache you’re going to get when you figure out that your record isn’t going to sell.

11. Mannie Fresh – Return of the Ballin’

Since he’s “ballin’”, you see that he can afford to spell out the year, make, and model of those nice cars in the background. He desperately wants us all to know that he can afford these nice rides. He’s the illest thing around, yo. Too bad no one’s heard of you.

12. MSTRKRFT – Fist Of God

It’s a fist made of butts. How clever. I hope it sounds better than it looks, really.

13. Neil Young – Fork in the Road

“I’ve got candy in the house. Want some?” Creepy.

14. Sum41: All the Good Sh*t: 14 Solid Gold Hits, 2001-2008

Is this all of their good tunes wrapped into a package that looks like it got rejected by Journey? Why yes, yes it is. Kudos to you guys.

It looks like it might be the American Music Awards all over again with Taylor Swift getting eight nominations. But it’s Beyonce who’s taking the crown of having the most nods for next year’s Grammy Awards, with a whopping ten.

Beyonce has certainly paid her dues in the music world. Before becoming Sacha Fierce, Beyonce owned the stage as the best performing artist of the decade. She deserves it, too, she’s fierce!

Before going solo, Beyonce was a part of Destiny’s Child. With hits like, “Bills, Bills, Bills”, “Bootylicious”, and “Say My Name”, the trio made their marks on the world. Now, having gone solo, Beyonce has conquered the charts with album sales and has toured like a mad woman.

She really has come a long way since her earlier days. Thankfully she has become more well known for her musical abilities and songwriting capabilities rather than her love life, which she decides to keep private.

She’s had some massive success as a solo artist and was even invited to the White House to sing for Barack Obama’s Inauguration Ball. How many artists do you know that can say they’ve achieved that level of success?

Your first huge hit with Destiny’s Child – Independent Women – was released in 2000. Have you changed over the past 10 years?

Absolutely, yes. Eighteen years old. I was a baby. When our first single came out I was 15. My lyrics, and my goals, are completely different now. In the beginning, I was so happy to be in a studio and so hungry for us just to sell half a million records. Now I want to create something that I’ll be proud of 20, 30, 40 years from now – something that will last beyond me. The things that used to excite me just don’t any more. I’m always trying to challenge myself.

You’ve just come back from China on the latest leg of your tour. They must know who you are there…

Wow. The whole experience was pretty overwhelming. I just didn’t expect there to be so many photographers and so much media outside [when I arrived]. It was midnight, and they were really excited. To be able to travel the world, especially to places I never thought I’d be… it’s really, you know, still fascinating for me.

It’s possibly surprising that for someone who comes out of contemporary R&B and hip-hop, your live shows are incredible.

I really believe that when I perform live, I’m the strongest [that I am]. My hand is in everything – from the styling to the designing of the lights to the set list and all the little segues ways. And all of these things take so much time. For the first five or six months of this tour, I’d watch the show back every night, just to tweak and make things a little tighter. I think there’s always room for improvement.

Similarly, your records push the boundaries…

I did a lot of things differently this time with my album. A lot of it was [recorded] live, less production with the vocals, I didn’t do as many arrangements… that was with the I Am side. Then with the Sasha Fierce side, I tried to do things that were, sonically, a little more modern and a little more electronic. A little bit. But still mixed in with my drum loops. You know, I feel like the only way I can be around as long as I pray that I can be around is to always push the envelope. And it’s really exciting that now people are allowing music to just be music… and R&B and hip-hop artists are collaborating with different types of artists. Hopefully we can just continue to grow and just step outside of hip-hop or rap or rock or whatever and it can all just be good music.

You told Forbes magazine: “I’ve worked too hard and sacrificed too much to do something silly that would mess up the brand I’ve created all of these years.” What have you sacrificed?

I just sacrificed… life. Being able to walk down the street and being able to make mistakes and not have it recorded for ever… being able to have regular relationships and dates… just regular, normal things that people probably don’t even think about. Sometimes it’s hard.

I was in Egypt yesterday and visited the pyramids and it was so spiritual and beautiful. But then I had the news cameras and the paparazzi that follow me and…. it’s really odd sometimes. I haven’t had longer than a couple of months off ever in my life, since I was 15. So it’s those type of things. But I was raised that anything that’s worth anything takes a lot of sacrifice. And when anything is too easy for me I get scared.

You’ve always kept quiet about your relationship with Jay-Z. Does it seem strange to you that other stars will share the details of their private lives with the public?

It doesn’t seem strange at all. It actually seems like the natural thing to do because you’re being yourself and people ask and people are interested… But I never wanted to be famous for my personal life. I wanted to be famous for my music and my talent, and I always wished I could cut it out when I left the stage. And Jay was private before I met him. It was just who we were. Even before we were celebrities.

It must be quite irritating for you that you’re not the most powerful African-American couple in the world any more…

That is hilarious. Absolutely not! Thank God for that couple.

You sang for the president and his wife for their first dance at their first inauguration ball. What was that like?

I just can’t believe I was part of that moment. Everyone had chills, everyone had tears and you could see everyone’s admiration for the president. And my admiration: I could barely sing. I still get chills when I meet them.

It felt like the country was heading down a pretty dark tunnel with the previous president.

I’m just happy for the day! I think so many people are more interested in politics and so many young people feel like they were spoken to and we’re all a part of the country. And I think the perception of African-Americans has changed so much.

Just to return to the Forbes quote: what is the Beyoncé brand?

I don’t really like to call myself a brand and I don’t like to think of myself as a brand. I’m a singer, a songwriter, a musician and a performer. And an actress, and all the other things that I do. When you add it all together, some might call it a brand but that’s not my focus. My focus is my art and that’s what I love to do. I have to be really passionate in order to do something. I’ve turned down many things that I just didn’t believe in.

What do you think about shows like American Idol which have taken over the airwaves?

I don’t watch much television but I’ve watched those shows and I’ve cried, I’ve welled up, I’m like, “Oh my God, I hope they win, I hope they get a chance!” And me being from Houston, Texas, there weren’t many outlets for me and for the girls [in Destiny's Child]. But don’t they perpetuate an idea that fame is just handed to you?

There’s always a new artist that people are fascinated with, and I think becoming famous is not so hard any more but staying… and I don’t even like the word famous… staying a celebrity is not so easy, especially now that people have access to celebrities even when they don’t want you to. In the end you have to have some kind of talent. When you think about Michael Jackson and Prince, back in the day when they were mysterious… that mystery was attractive and now it’s hard to have that.

So what happens next? Is your diary already filled for the next decade?

I usually know what I’m going to do within a year. I have the next year planned out. But for the first time ever, after a couple of dates in February and a couple of award shows, I promised myself that that it’s time to smell the roses. I’m going to take – hopefully – a couple of months off. I’m not going to plan anything. I’ll perhaps take some art classes, I’ll visit some museums and I’ll check out some shows on Broadway. I’d like to travel somewhere – maybe back to Egypt – without anyone, without any security, and focus on things I’ve always wanted to do myself.

Is there anyone left you’d still like to record with?

Oh, where do I begin? There’s so many people I’d like to work with still, but I’d like to maybe go outside of the box. My sister [Solange] has put me on to bands like [indie group] Of Montreal and some other different types of artists. I would love to do something like that on my next album.

And starting a dynasty?

I don’t know. I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. I still have time for myself. I’ve worked so hard and I need to relax and make sure I’m ready for that and I don’t think I am. But knowing I have time off… I don’t even know how to feel about that. I’m so excited.

If you haven’t heard of the pint-sized group, OMG Girlz, then you’re in for a treat.

The all girl group consists of Reginae Carter (Lil Wayne’s daughter), Zonnique AKA “Star” (T.I.’s daughter), along with two other friends, Beauty and Lolo.

The group is being managed by Star’s mother and T.I.’s fiancee Tiny, and they have already recorded their debut song, “Aint Nobody Thinkin’ Bout You”.

Manager Tiny says that they are getting bookings already and up through March. She also commented that she, along with the other mothers, are coaching the girls on songwriting.

She said, “Kiesha and I wrote ‘Ain’t Nobody,’ but Reginae wrote on that one too. We’re trying to coach them to write, and they’ve come up with good stuff.”

T.I. is set to give the girls a boost as he has promised that he’s getting a song together for them. Tiny added, “Tip, you know it! He already told Star he’s going to do a song with them. They’re excited.”

Looks like trouble in Disney Paradise. Kevin Jonas and his fiancée, Danielle Deleasa, are approaching some troubled waters. The oldest of the Jonas Brothers is set to marry by early 2010 but there is a hold up.

An “iron clad” prenup has been issued for Danielle to sign. As smart as the idea is, it isn’t sitting well with his bride to be. According friends of the future Mrs. Jonas, she is very up set that Kevin “doesn’t trust her” and “already thinking of divorce.” There is no question that Deleasa will sign the prenup, but she is taking her time to “come to terms” with it.

Aww…this is almost cute. They think they have problems. Poor things.

[Disney Dreaming]

While shopping at Target, Britney Spears picked up some Michael Jackson CD’s. Maybe inspiration for something new in her realm of the music world?

Spears shopped in Target and despite being known to walk away with bags upon bags of goodies, she walked out carrying just the CD. She did stop in the clothing section and looked at jeans and tops. Either nothing caught her eye or any other purchases are being airlifted to her home.
