Heywood Gould, who wrote the Tom Cruise movie “Cocktail”,  will be honored in a 20th world launch anniversary celebration with Tom Cruise look-a-likes and bottle spinning at a T.G.I Friday’s® the place where the blockbuster was filmed in Manhattan.

The celebration coincides with Americas newest T.G.I Friday’s® grand opening in Penn Station  on Thursday October 22, 2009 at 6pm on the Amtrack level on 33rd and 7th in Manhattan.

The  Tom Cruise look-a-likes and bottle spinning behind the bar will resemble the movie that was filmed over two decades ago. The movie was one of the most popular films in the bar and beverage industries. Millions wanted to become bartender’s after the movie was released. Bartending Schools from across the nation still run the Tom Cruise film clips in there ads today.

Heywood Gould was a former New York City reporter and bartender that wrote Fort Apache,the Bronx, Boys from Brazil and Rolling Thunder. He is a New York institution.

Oh how I would love to go to this event! Any if you TomKatCrazy readers live in Manhattan? It would be very cool is Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance!

Katie Holmes attended the 2009 Elle Women in Hollywood Tribute last night (October 19) in Beverly Hills, CA. The event was held at the Four Seasons. Katie Holmes was among a list of women, which included Julie Andrews, Emily Blunt, Julianne Moore, Zoe Saldana, Robin Wright Penn, Renee Zellweger and casting director Bonnie Timmerman, who were honored by the magazine at last night’s event.

She wore a sheer top, black bra and a Azzedine Alaia skirt. Maybe this look will put those pregnancy rumors to rest because I don’t see a belly…do you? From everything I have read this morning, the media loved Katie’s look.

Yay! I can finally post Katie Holmes’ Elle Magazine cover. She looks so amazing in this dress and I love her longer hair.

In her interview with Elle, Katie talked about her time on Broadway for “All My Sons” and how Suri Cruise was so comfortable being on stage. Katie tells a story about how Suri almost climbed on her lap one time during a performance. Cute!

She also told the magazine how Suri was always with her backstage.

"Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins," Katie said.

We all saw this name change coming! I have known that “Wichita” was a temporary name and that they were looking for something else to call it and I am very glad. It has now been renamed “Knight & Day”.

What do you think of the new name?

Tom Cruise was absent from filming on Monday and some said it was because he was under the weather,  while unit publicist Guy Adan told the Track, “Tom’s feeling fine. The schedule changed because of weather. That’s all.”

According to the Boston Herald, they were supposed to film a scene on Route 93 at the mouth of the airport tunnel and instead ended up in a garage on Broadway, with just stars Cameron Diaz.

“Knight & Day” will pull out of Boston on November 15th and will head to Spain, Austria and in the tropics.

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise sure had one very busy family weekend in Boston. They spent some time in the park, went to a coffee shop on Saturday. On Sunday (October 11), they were seen out and about again strolling around the streets.

Katie held on to a coffee in one hand and Suri in the other for a little while and then put her down so she could walk on her own. It looks like Suri is still in her dress phase. We’ve seen a few pictures of her in pants and leggings since Tom Cruise’s interview about the fact that Suri does not like pants.

I love how independent Suri seems. She is a girl who likes to wear dresses so leave her alone, lol! She’s not going to freeze to death or be permanently damaged for wearing a dress on a chilly day. Just my two cents.

On Saturday, October 10th, Tom Cruise took a break from filming his latest movie “Wichita” in Boston and spent some quality family time at a park on the Charles River. The photos are just adorable and there are so many, so I will try to post the best ones I have available to me.

I love this picture of Tom and Katie smiling. Katie looks like she did during her days on Dawson’s Creek!

Suri looks like she is sacked out!  There are so many cute pictures of Suri smiling, sitting in her daddy’s lap and just having a great time.

I am choosing to go ahead and post this rumor/story because I think it is interesting and TomKat fans will want to know. According to Hollyscoop (who got the story via The Daily Mail), Suri Cruise will be attending the Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning. We saw pictures of Katie Holmes and Suri visiting the school and I was wondering why.

The article goes on to say that although Tom Cruise is a Scientologist, Suri will be raised Catholic and will start attending the school.

I imagine that wherever Suri goes to school, they have her best interests in mind.

I am LOVING these pictures of Tom Cruise performing his own stunts on the set of “Wichita”. He is so good at what he does and this is looking to be a very good film! Check out this picture of Tom jumping from one car to another.

Tom Cruise is currently in Boston, Mass. filming “Wichita” with his “Vanilla Sky” co-star Cameron Diaz. We have seen a ton of great pictures coming off the set and it’s been fun looking at them all.

On the same day as this stunt, two of Tom’s main ladies were on set to watch him. Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise sat nearby. Suri sipped on a bottle of water and then at one point Tom scooped her up and gave her a big hug.

The pictures are great! Tom, Katie and Suri all look so happy. You can see them below.

On Tom giving her fashion advice: "He usually likes everything, but sometimes I’ll walk out and he’ll say, ‘I think that dress might be wearing you. You don’t need that. Tom has great taste.”

On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

On life as a working mom on the Broadway set of All My Sons: “Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“

One of my wonderful TomKatCrazy readers let me know about this and I am so glad she did. It’s a great story!

On Monday, October 5th, Tom Cruise decided to surprise a professor and some students at Harvard. It was Prof. Bruce Hay’s Entertainment Law class and renowned lawyer to the stars Bertram Fields was there to give a lecture about his experiences in Hollywood. I bet that was one interesting talk!

Thirty minutes into the lecture, in walks Tom Cruise! He announced that he was there to see Bert speak because he had never heard him lecture before.

The whole article is great and I love the pictures of Tom interacting with the students. Here’s an excerpt that was one of my favorites:

Despite this, Cruise was gracious and charming, staying for an hour after class to speak intimately with the students.  He answered questions such as, "Is there a role you regret not taking?" (short answer: no) and explained the interaction between paparazzi and his three children. 

As he put it, he does not want his children to be afraid of anything, and so he downplays the intrusion of paparrazi.  As young children often do, his daughter Suri has, according to Cruise, some comical responses.  For example, she will sometimes throw down her hands and say "Why is this person following me?" and has responded to encroachments on her privacy by raising a hand and declaring, "Personal space!"
