It’s type of hilarious to see how vogue designers insert by themselves into geeky sequence. Just like with Bella Swan’s marriage ceremony dress for Breaking Dawn, Component 1, famous designers like Christian Siriano and Charlotte Ronson have now supplied up their sketches for Katniss Everdeen’s “girl on fire” gown in The Hunger Games. It’s the gown that Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) styles that assists her make such a splash in the Capitol and which sets her apart as fierce and strong.

Here’s the rub: We’ve already observed Katniss’ fireplace dress, modeled by Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger Online games trailer. So these are coming a tiny late in the game costume designer Judianna Makovsky has gone with a red topic, it appears. Curiously, no 1 seems to have acknowledged the collection’ description of light-reflecting jewels that make Katniss dazzle. But permit’s perform along and see what the other designers would’ve carried out if given the possibility.

I know we aren’t very far into the series on Bravo, Launch My Line, but do you already have a favorite? Among the Twitter crowd and my circle of friends, it seems fashion journalist Merle is the favorite. Why? I’m not sure! I think people like her dry personality and the fact that she made a few jabs at other designers. I’m not sure how this is appealing, but it seems to take off with the audience.

My personal favorite at the moment is L. Marilyn. I think she has enough experience as a consumer to know what the every day, working woman wants out of a clothing line, and I also think she has the brains to see through the branding portion of the label. Thing with Merle is I haven’t been too impressed with her designs. The let’s-use-this-as-that concept is kind of lame and won’t translate to every challenge.

We all saw Eric win episode 2 of Launch My Line. The challenge involved creating a look for the beach and Eric went the typical route creating a sheer print caftan with a bedazzling butterfly at the center.

Was it innovative Not really. I’m afraid Dsquared2’s flamboyant taste is going to drive this show into the ground. I had no problem with week 1’s winner from Louanna (a darling asymmetrical cocktail number), but this latest winning design was kind of tacky.

After crash landing at my family’s house in Texas for the holidays, I am finally catching up on the first episode of Bravo’s new fashion reality series, Launch My Line. Let me just say – LOVE! I’m not sure if it’s because we’re fresh on the heels of an extra boring season of Project Runway, but I am loving this show.

I am a little concerned it’s not in New York City, as I think that would have made it far more interesting. The thing that makes Launch My Line special is the dynamic of the designer/expert relationship. These “designers” (or aspiring designers) are all full of personality, so I have a feeling htis show is never going to get boring. Here are a few random thoughts on Bravo’s Launch My Line:

1. I die for Vanessa Gonzales. She’s bright, to-the-point and I have feeling she’s going to bring some drama this season.
2. Roberto De Villacis is a character. I see good things coming from him design-wise. He’s a little kooky, but those are usually the ones who push out the most innovative pieces.
3. Dan Karaty has great energy, but I can see him going pretty soon.
4. L. Marilyn Crawford…NEED to know more about this woman! I am all about her awesome attitude (pushy and forward, but in the right ways).
5. Do Dean and Dan realize they’re in their 40s? The we-dress-the-same-because-we’re-twins thing isn’t really cute when you’re this age.
6. Patrick MacDonald wears more eyeliner and highlighter on his cheeks than a chick filming a YouTube makeup tutorial.
7. What was this show’s budget? The workroom is nicer than most of our homes! It puts Project Runway to shame…BIG TIME!
8. Coco has her work cut out for herself, poor thing. L. Marilyn knows what she wants and she’s going after it. Love it!
9. This trim room idea (where designers make a mad dash for trim, fabric and the like for a mere 10 minutes) is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
10. Frederic Fekkai himself! WHAT?! What?!

Oxygen has just announced The Russell Simmons Project, a reality show following the day-to-day life of mogul Russell Simmons. I guess it will be done in the same vain as his ex-wife’s reality show on The Style Network. While Russell is no longer involved in Phat Farm fashions, he is always on the lookout for new projects.

My hope is that we see any up-and-coming fashion-related projects and how they come to be. The show will also follow Russell’s dream team of women who help run his life, from mundane tasks to large deals. I really would liked to have seen this show on MTV or VH1, but Oxygen will have to do. If they run it back-to-back with The Bad Girls Club, you know I’m there!

Nicole Richie seems to be a designing fool these days. With her collection for A Pea in the Pod and the recent announcement of her own contemporary line, who knows if there are enough hours in a day to create not one, but two jewelry lines. House of Harlow 1960 is her vintage-inspired jewelry line sold at Intuition, Kitson and numerous other boutiques. I am guessing Nicole was smart enough to realize that while many women shop in these chicy stores, even more shop at America’s playground – the mall.

Nicole Richie for Bebe is basically House of Harlow 1960, with a lower price point. It’s the same look. Chunky rings, statement necklaces and cuff bracelets, all done with a vintage edge. A lot of the rings and cuffs remind me of Rachel Zoe, who we can thank for introducing Nicole to vintage years ago when she styled her. I’m not really impressed by either line, but if you don’t mind paying a price and aren’t a fan of thrift stores, this might be the road you take to get the vintage look.

Designer Isaac Mizrahi serves as creative director of Liz Claiborne, and this past summer struck a deal with QVC. Mizrahi pops onto QVC this weekend to hawk his goods, which will hopefully share some of the same bright, cheery designs we saw for his stint at Target and his work at Liz Claiborne.

Of course, this isn’t only apparel we’re talking about. QVC is taking a chance with Mizrahi by giving him his own space within QVC headquarters. The brand is dubbed a lifestyle brand, and will definitely cover clothing and accessories, but also delve into home decor and even food!

Isaac will appear on QVC December 5th at 8pm EST from a space especially developed for his collection.
